Saverio's First Place – Our Story
Saverio's 1st Place, Inc. was established in 2008 by Saverio and Emily Cataldo. In the early 1980's, Saverio began working with his father-in-law in a family run butcher shop. It was there, in the kitchen and behind the counter that Saverio found his passion for the food industry. Through the years, Saverio introduced his different products to the neighborhood customers. Due to the overwhelming response by the customers that tasted samples of Saverio's 1st Place Gourmet BBQ/Dipping Sauce, he decided that the time had come to introduce this product on a grander scale. Saverio also bottled his Gourmet Hot Sauce for people who asked for a hot version.
The company name holds a very special place in the hearts of our family. Saverio is the namesake of his late grandfather, Saverio Anasatasio, "Poppy". In a brownstone on 1st Place in Brooklyn, NY, Nanny and Poppy raised their family. Around Nanny's kitchen table, in the company of family and friends, many good meals were shared and lasting memories were made. Our company name is in honor of the love that was shared between grandfather and grandson.
About our products, they are truly multi-use sauces that are made with only the finest ingredients available. Our Gourmet BBQ/Dipping Sauces can be used on beef or chicken patties and steak. It can be used as a marinade or a glaze for pork roasts or whole chickens. It is great for the kids who enjoy finger foods like mozzarella sticks, chicken strips, and let's not forget baby back ribs. Tired of plain cocktail sauce? Try this versatile sauce with shrimp cocktail or lobster tails! It does not need to be BBQ season to enjoy our Gourmet BBQ/Dipping Sauces. Our Gourmet Sauces can be used in recipes such as Buffalo Wings and Sloppy Joe's, or with family favorites like Pulled Pork, Skewered Shrimp, or Chilean Sea Bass. No matter how you choose to use our signature sauces, we assure you that they'll make your meals more flavorful and delicious!
Saverio takes great pride in the products that he is bringing to the market. He has become a successful businessman, but more importantly, he is recognized in his community as the man that goes out of his way to give his customers what they want.
